As a native Floridian, my earliest architectural influences were shaped by the Spanish Mediterranean Revival movement and the legacy of Addison Mizner. Visits to Vizcaya deepened my appreciation for Tuscan Italian Renaissance architecture and richly layered Baroque detailing—an influence reflected throughout many of the ideas explored in this journal.
Years spent living at Ocean Reef Club in Key Largo, along with travels through Key West and the Caribbean, immersed me in the relaxed sophistication of British Colonial and tropical design traditions.
One of my favorite aspects of residential design is creating vacation homes, where imagination often extends beyond conventional boundaries. In one recent project, I transformed a stark contemporary residence into a tranquil Zen-inspired Balinese retreat—a story featured below.
