“Find Your Interior Design Style and Get Inspired”
Welcome to the Interior Design Style Guide
This blog is designed to help you explore and identify your unique interior and architectural design style. Whether you're building a new home, renovating, or simply refreshing a space, my goal is to provide guidance, inspiration, and practical insight into the world of design.
At the bottom of this page, you’ll find a collection of upcoming blog posts, each highlighting a distinct architectural and interior design style. In each post, I’ll share a brief history, identify key characteristics, and offer ideas for how that style can be thoughtfully incorporated into your own home.
As you browse, take note of any elements that resonate with your personal taste—such as color palettes, architectural details, furniture styles, window or ceiling treatments, or whether the space feels formal or relaxed. These subtle cues can help guide your design decisions and refine your vision.
Every region has a design language shaped by its geography and climate. Here in sunny South Florida, we’re lucky to draw influence from a rich blend of styles—from Mediterranean and West Indies to Mid-Century Modern and Coastal Contemporary.
Below, you'll find a list of four popular architectural and interior design styles with brief descriptions showcased from previous clients homes.

“Spanish / Mediterranean Revival”
Inspired by architect Addison Mizner in the 1920s, originally from Palm Beach to Coconut Grove. Mediterranean style utilizes natural elements such as stone and wood into the home.
To give my clients home a more Mediterranean style I added traditional architectural elements such as moldings painted a brown wood color, wrought iron chandeliers and sconces, a half stone wall to create a courtyard feeling in the family room.
“Modern Coastal meets
Bahamas Colonial ”
Not to be confused with Nautical and Kitschy. You won’t find any fishnets or lighthouses here but maybe a few shells and faux coral. For me the Coastal decor takes its cues from the natural environment for everything from color palette to materials used.
Here in my clients vacation home overlooking the ocean I was inspired by to use tones of aqua and coral, highlighted by crisp white and silver as the metal accent.
“Contemporary Style”
The ever-changing style of Contemporary that became popular in the 1970s and is know for exemplifying the here and now. The Contemporary design borrowed elements from modernism and postmodernism. It also gathered ideas from many other styles such as art deco, deconstructivism, futurism, and more.
“Eclectic Style”
One of my favorites and creativity abounds, yet balance is key to a successful Eclectic style. The mixing of different interior design styles and various elements will create interest and depth to a room.
Below you will find upcoming blogs on each interior design and architectural style. They will showcase some of my favorite rooms, where I find inspiration and creativity.

Being an Interior Designer and having grown up in Fort Lauderdale and Boca Raton, I can appreciate the Tropical and colorful influences from the Bahamas and Caribbean Islands, with its history coming from the Traditional British Colonial style of interior design and architecture.
