From “Mediterranean Style Home” to “Modern Interior Design”
This custom built home with its modern architecture came about after I assisted my client and his architect in designing his Mediterranean style vacation home located on the Fort Lauderdale Intercoastal Waterway.
To learn more about the design process of the Mediterranean Style Vacation home, please see my Blog page or click on the link “Mediterranean Style Home” where you can view the floor plans, elevations, patio and pool area, kitchen and family room details.

The Bamboo Stained Glass Window adds a touch of Zen to our
Wine and Coffee Bar
Custom Cabinet Details
Our custom bar is designed to seamlessly complement the kitchen with its striking two-tone wood accents and an architectural dark wood bridge surrounding the window. This unique bridge feature is further elevated with Zen-inspired custom bamboo stained glass, creating a tranquil focal point in the space. The bridge design is thoughtfully repeated in the Sub-Zero 30” wine cooler (Link), wine storage, and built-in coffee station, bringing a sense of harmony and cohesion to the entire bar area.
Additional features include recessed LED lighting for a soft, ambient glow, seamless mitered drawers for a refined finish, and elegant Black Quartz countertops that add a bold, modern edge to this sophisticated design.
Modern Architecture meets Zen Garden
Our contemporary Zen retreat is defined by a harmonious blend of serenity and modern design. The Laying Buddha (Link) serves as a focal point, setting a tranquil ambiance that invites relaxation and mindfulness.
The contemporary architecture of our patio area exudes sophistication and warmth, featuring a rich dark wood ceiling that contrasts beautifully with the blue-gray plaster columns. Custom-made bubble-glass sconces add a touch of elegance, while a grand shell chandelier draws the eye, creating a stunning focal point.
This serene space seamlessly complements the aquamarine pool, which is framed by natural elements such as the blue-gray stone columns and custom planters to match Las Olas Boulevard adding to the allure. The entire area is further enhanced by an art wall featuring a Buddha head rainwater sculpture, bringing together tranquility and artistry for a truly captivating outdoor experience.
The Zen outdoor shower is an elegant retreat, thoughtfully designed with a rainwater-inspired enclosure. Vertical ceramic and glass tiles evoke the essence of bamboo, offering a tactile connection to nature, while the open-air concept enhances the sense of tranquility and openness. Soft, recessed lighting adds a gentle glow, transforming the shower into a peaceful, meditative space that truly embodies the essence of Zen.
