From Unexpected Challenge to Inspired Transformation
After completing my client’s full home remodel and interior design through a comprehensive design-build process, she expressed such delight that she jokingly wished there were more spaces left to transform. Just weeks later, an unexpected water leak at her Ocean Reef Club condo created exactly that opportunity. What initially felt like a disruption quickly became the catalyst for a complete reimagining of the space. Guided by our integrated design-build approach, where planning, construction, and interior design come together to create a cohesive and elevated result.
Our goal was to transform the residence into a vibrant, restorative retreat that offered a sense of calm, beauty, and escape. The design embraces color, warmth, and a relaxed coastal sensibility, creating a true oasis within Ocean Reef Club.
Honoring Family Legacy Through Design
The home held deep sentimental value, having belonged to my client’s parents. She shared cherished memories of time spent at Ocean Reef Club and wanted to preserve that legacy for future generations.
The design approach focused on creating a space where her children and grandchildren could gather and continuing a tradition of family connection within a setting that feels both timeless and renewed.

Architectural Enhancements for Modern Coastal Living
Maximizing the home’s footprint was essential. Key architectural updates included:
Incorporating the former patio into the main living area by relocating the glass sliding doors
Expanding the living room to enhance flow and connection to the waterfront
Reconfiguring the kitchen to accommodate a built-in refrigerator
Improving overall functionality while maintaining a clean, cohesive design
These changes allowed the home to feel larger, brighter, and more aligned with modern coastal living.
Functional Coastal Kitchen Design for Entertaining
Designed for both everyday dining and relaxed evenings of entertaining, the traditional table for four was replaced with a custom kitchen peninsula. This reconfiguration introduces generous storage and seating for eight, maximizing functionality while naturally encouraging gathering, conversation, and connection, all essential elements of vacation home living at Ocean Reef Club.
Coastal Materials with Refined Detail
The kitchen remodel is completed with quartz countertops featuring embedded sea glass, a subtle yet distinctive detail that reflects the surrounding ocean environment. This element reinforces the home’s coastal identity while delivering durability, low maintenance, and timeless elegance, perfectly suited for a luxury coastal retreat.
Classic Coastal Details with a Modern Twist
Bead-board paneling plays a central role in achieving an authentic beach house aesthetic. Crisp white bead-board was thoughtfully applied to:

To introduce depth and contrast, the kitchen ceiling was finished in bead-board and painted a rich aqua tone—bringing a fresh, modern coastal character to the space.

As part of the home remodel, the former patio was thoughtfully integrated into the main living space by relocating the glass sliding doors. This architectural enhancement expanded the living room while strengthening the connection between the interior and the waterfront—creating a brighter, more open environment that embodies the essence of coastal indoor-outdoor living at Ocean Reef Club.

This living room captures the essence of classic beach house interior design, featuring pale aqua walls paired with crisp white-framed bead-board for a light, airy foundation. A driftwood console with shell rope accents introduces texture and authenticity, while a coral red club chair adds a vibrant focal point. The space is grounded by a coral-bordered rug, complemented by a distinctive dinghy boat table that reinforces the home’s coastal character.
