Modern Coastal Interior Design
Modern Coastal Interior Design in Delray Beach Inspired by Relaxed Luxury Living
When my client purchased this Delray Beach residence, the vision was to create a home that felt refined yet relaxed, blending modern coastal interior design with the warmth and personality of South Florida living.
This project focused on balancing clean architectural lines with natural textures, curated furnishings, and layers of color inspired by ocean, sand, and tropical surroundings. Rather than relying on predictable coastal themes, the design introduces sophistication through proportion, material selection, and thoughtful detailing.
The result is a luxury interior that feels timeless, elevated, and deeply connected to the Delray Beach lifestyle.
Design-Build Before & After in Delray Beach
Before Picture of kitchen
Before Picture of family room
Our collaboration quickly evolved into a full-scale design-build renovation, encompassing architectural refinement, interior detailing, and construction coordination throughout the residence.
This was a complete home transformation including:
Kitchen remodel with custom cabinetry
Living room and family room interior design
Primary bedroom suite interior design
Guest bedroom interior design
Home office with custom cabinets
Three bathroom remodels
From concept through installation, every element was evaluated for architectural authenticity and material cohesion.
Transitional Kitchen Design with Custom Cabinetry
Open Concept Kitchen Remodel with Custom Island and Architectural Details
Designed to improve flow and functionality, this Delray Beach kitchen remodel transformed the home into an open and inviting gathering space. Custom cabinetry, decorative corbels, layered lighting, and natural stone surfaces create a timeless transitional kitchen that balances elegance with everyday living.
Custom Cabinetry, Contrasting Finishes and Luxury Materials
Painted cabinetry paired with a contrasting dark island introduces depth and architectural interest. Decorative millwork, detailed hood design, and carefully selected finishes elevate the space while maintaining warmth and functionality.
Dining Area with a Garden-Inspired Conservatory Feel
Large windows and French doors maximize natural light and connect the kitchen and dining areas to the surrounding landscape. The breakfast space was designed to create a relaxed yet refined atmosphere that reflects the indoor–outdoor lifestyle of Delray Beach.
Modern Coastal Style in Delray Beach
Colonial Bahamas Inspired Dining Room with Architectural Symmetry
Rather than incorporating a traditional single china cabinet, I specified matching display armoires to frame the dining space and create architectural symmetry. Their substantial scale introduces visual balance while adding the feeling of custom built-in millwork that resembles Colonial Bahama style with a coastal feeling.
A distressed wood dining table anchors the room and brings warmth and relaxed elegance to the interior. Soft cream upholstery with a coral patten reinforce the coastal sophistication associated with South Florida coastal living.
Furniture selections included curated pieces from Tommy Bahama under Lexington Home Brands, blending collections to avoid a showroom effect and achieve layered authenticity.

Primary Suite with Warmth, Balance, and Architectural Continuity
Before pictures of the Master Bedroom Decor
A cocoa-brown foundation was complemented by aqua blue, sage green, and rust-red details. The rust accent wall behind the bed added depth and contrast, framed by custom drapery and aqua sheers. Aqua continued throughout the bedroom and dressing area to maintain spatial flow.
Flooring selections were coordinated during construction:
Sculptured carpet with subtle lattice pattern
Porcelain faux-wood tile in the bathroom
Both finishes aligned tonally with the cabinetry and fabric palette.
The darker case goods anchored the space, creating balance between masculine structure and feminine softness—critical in a shared primary suite.
Before of Primary Bathroom Home Remodel
Custom Cabinetry and Millwork Integration
Custom cabinetry was fabricated to match existing woodwork, preserving architectural continuity. Grasscloth panel inserts referenced the warmth of the wood tones while introducing texture.
Functional enhancements included:
His-and-hers storage solutions
Mirrored cabinet panels for accessibility
Crystal hardware and lighting accents for subtle luminosity
Every millwork detail was specified within the broader architectural framework to prevent visual fragmentation.
Mediterranean Bathroom Remodel – Tile as Architecture
The primary bathroom remodel exemplified design-build precision. Aqua-blue glass tile was selected to relate to the adjacent bedroom palette. Metallic silver liner tiles were extended beyond simple trim and used as baseboard, crown detail, and an architectural accent above the water closet.
Rather than decorative afterthoughts, these tile applications were planned as structural design elements.
As for the master bathroom remodel, I chose this aqua-blue glass tile that relates master bedroom walls. I always love aqua and silver and found these metallic-looking liner tiles. I continued the glass tiles and liners around the room as a baseboard and crown detail as well as and architectural element over the toilet.
Swarovski Chandelier
The light fixture features a silver metal vine with delicate Swarovski crystal glass flowers, while the mirror’s frame carries the same distressed silver finish as the liner tile, creating a cohesive, layered detail. I custom-painted the mirror to blend seamlessly with the walls and enhanced it with matching Swarovski crystal flowers, adding a refined touch and completing the space with both beauty and intention.
I consider the mirror to be a gift from the Universe and regifted it as my heartfelt “Thank you”
Transitional Coastal Home Office with Memorabilia Display
Before pictures of the Home Office
Design-Build creates coordination
The home office continued the Transitional Coastal narrative through custom wraparound shelving supported by open corbels. The design-build approach allowed the shelving, custom cabinetry, wood blinds, and ceiling fan to be designed uniformly in color and material that is proportionate to the room’s scale.
Display of Sports and Family Memorabilia
The homeowner’s sports memorabilia collection was thoughtfully curated and integrated into the millwork, transforming personal artifacts into architectural features rather than surface clutter.
Having previously designed for professional athletes, I understand the importance of presenting memorabilia with respect and restraint.
