Before & After Interior Design Transformation at Ocean Reef Club
This oceanfront vacation home at Ocean Reef Club in Key Largo underwent a thoughtful interior design and remodeling transformation focused on light, flow, and coastal living. Through architectural refinement, custom detailing, and a curated coastal aesthetic, the home was reimagined to better connect interior spaces with ocean views while enhancing comfort, function, and relaxed luxury.
Coastal Interior Design at Ocean Reef Club
This oceanfront vacation home at Ocean Reef Club belongs to a longtime client with whom I have collaborated on several interior design and remodeling projects. Our work began with her primary bedroom and bath and later expanded into a complete kitchen remodel, allowing the home to fully embrace its coastal Florida Keys setting.
Kitchen Remodel Inspired by Coastal Living
For the kitchen remodel, classic white shaker cabinetry was selected to establish a clean, timeless coastal style. The upper cabinets are framed with a coral-painted header and a cove crown molding.
The headboard ceiling is painted in a rich New England blue. These layered details reinforce the home’s relaxed yet tailored coastal character.
The clean white subway tile lends its self to the classic kitchen from the past while the framed glass mosaic tile updates the kitchen’s style. The countertops are Vetrazzo Quartz resembling beach glass.
For the flooring is porcelain faux driftwood tile laid in an alternating pattern with two different size wood planks.

Kitchen Remodel Integrated with the Home’s Coastal Interior Design
As part of the home remodel, the former patio was thoughtfully incorporated into the living room by removing the glass sliding doors, allowing the space to expand and better connect the waterfront with the interior. The adjacent wall was extended to accommodate a built-in refrigerator within the kitchen, increase storage capacity in the nearby closet, and create a soffit above the television area. This soffit provided the opportunity to integrate two recessed high-hat lights while also allowing access for air-conditioning ductwork for the enlarged living space.
Because this is a vacation home, extending guest accommodations was an important consideration. Rather than opting for a traditional table for four, a custom wraparound peninsula was designed with seating for eight creating a more social gathering space that supports entertaining and truly doubles the fun.
Coastal Bathroom Remodel -
Beach-house bathrooms must be FUN ! Green sink cabinet with legs to give that old fashion furniture look with matching mirror, picture frame and a shelf for your collection of shell, of course !
And while your having fun accenting your beach towels with color coordinated towel hooks and ceramic fish, thanks to my clients find - I grouped them together on a framed bead-board - as with all my interior design I like to reuse and element or color through out the home - such as in this beach house I have 6 areas that I used bead-board (framed beach towel area, kitchen ceiling, at peninsula base, framed over peninsula, framed behind TV and framed over the sofa with artwork that matches the framed mirrors over the end tables.
Don’t for get to paint your other kitschy beach accessories like the kitchen clock “Welcome to the Beach” and shell house key holder.
