“Coastal Beach Vacation Home”
at Ocean Reef Club, Key Largo 33040

After years of sharing my family's vacation homes at Ocean Reef Club and Boca Grande and growing up in Fort Lauderdale, I developed a love for the tropical lifestyle.

Classic South Florida home decor is known for being inspired by the ocean and tropical landscape. Our Tropical decor is best seen in our beautiful printed fabrics in hues of oceanic blues, Red Corals, and Palm Tree Greens. You can call it Bahamas Decor or British Colonel to Beach House Style or Modern Coastal; it is all part of what makes up our Florida Tropical style of interior design.

As an Interior Designer at Ocean Reef Club, I love to show my clients how to be more adventurous with their Vacation homes for a more tropical resort feeling. Ocean Reef Club is all about a relaxed lifestyle and elegant surroundings, and this is the definition of a Family Vacation Home.

After finishing my client's entire home remodel and interior design, she tells me that she enjoyed it so much that she wishes there were more rooms to design.
I told her to be careful what she wished.

About 3 weeks later, I received a call from her telling me that her vacation condo at Ocean Reef Club had a water leak and flooded the home. The Universe granted her wish, and we had a new interior design project and home remodel to create this small but colorful and relaxing retreat.

The vacation home once belonged to her parents, and she shared stories of her childhood at Ocean Reef Club. Her first priority is to continue that tradition with her children and grandchildren.
Architecturally I wanted to maximize the small space. So we removed the glass sliding doors, incorporated the enclosed patio into the living room, and built out the kitchen to allow a built-in refrigerator.

As for diner time and playing cards, we discarded the table for four and built a peninsula with extra storage and seating for eight. I love that we decided on Quartz countertops with the embedded sea-glass within the kitchen design and remodel.

For that Classic Beach House Style, I think the interior design must include the coastal feeling of Beadboard. Our crisp white beadboard has a modern coastal style as seen on the TV wall, framed over the sofa, on the kitchen's peninsula's wall, and painted a rich deep aqua on the kitchen ceiling.

The original patio had a mirror that reflected the ocean, and the husband loved this detail, so I incorporated it with the custom-framed mirrors over the end tables.

This living room decor can not get much more Beachy with its pale blue walls, white framed beadboard, driftwood console with shell rope accessory, coral red club chair with the Dingy Boat table on top of a coral bordered rug.

The picture to the left and above shows how I designed the drapery valance to balance and match the soffit on the room's left.
